Purpose:
Pyroelectra is a broad-spectrum organophosphorus, contact and enteric insecticide that provides the best biological effectiveness against a wide range of pests at all stages of development. Pyroelectrica affects the pest by affecting the function of the nervous system.
Chlorpyrifos affects the nervous system by inhibiting the breakdown of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (ACh). When exposed to insects, chlorpyrifos comes into contact with the active enzyme cholinesterase (ChE), which prevents the breakdown of ACh in the synaptic cleft. The resulting accumulation of ACh in the synaptic cleft leads to excessive stimulation of neuronal cells, leading to neurotoxicity and death of the pest.
